Samuel Ogwuba Sunday

Farm Manager, Ashogbon farm

Samuel Ogwuba Sunday is a graduate of Mathematics Education from Adamawa State university. Apart from being an A student, during his university days, he was committed to building people and helping his colleagues actualize their potentials.

It was this same excellence he carried into his practice of agriculture, a venture he stumbled upon while trying to help his community grow more food to help curb food shortage.

He is passionate and very much dedicated to the craft, and apart from being an agricultural trainer and farming consultant, he is a farmer himself. He currently manages over 18 acres of plantain plantation using cutting edge agricultural practices to ensure maximal productivity.

He uses his knowledge of mathematics to ensure adequate management of resources throughout the life cycle of crops he manages.

He is well versed in the cultivation of cucumber, short term vegetables and plantain. And this earned him the title Sam Cucumber during his NYSC days, a title he will eventually use as the Business name of his second company. Despite his ability to effectively manage almost all crops that can be cultivated within the Nigerian ecosystem, he has restricted himself to cultivating only the a-forenamed crops, as he firmly believes in specialization beyond generalization.

In his free time, he loves to train people, motivate them and also write. His writing talent has earned him the authorship of 4 books which include a good Agricultural practice, introduction to vegetable farming, Praying with the Word, 101 business ideas in Nigeria. when it comes to writing he not only writes on Agriculture but different Areas as he has been inspired to he has been able to train over 7000 young farmers like himself through the NYSC Skill Acquisition platforms Across the whole of South Western Nigeria and few other regions and his personal training platform. A people builder as some of his friends refer to him, he has successfully helped some of his trainees set up their own farms and some have gone to become established entrepreneurs in the agricultural space.

Due to his determination in helping solve the problem of food shortage, he has been nominated for several awards in the agricultural space both by the NYSC and the the state government, and beyond this, he is a well beloved of his native people of Benue state.
